Board of Directors Training

Cost of Training:      $695.00

(Intervention is additional)

It is possible to have more than one board trained at a time. It would be possible to divide the cost of travel, meals and lodging with the other boards if the host center so desired.

Training Time Frame:

Training consists of approximately 8-9 hours of in-depth training regarding the structure, positions, purpose, and responsibilities of the board not only through corporate and legal vision but more importantly the position of the board before God in its Biblical/Scriptural responsibility. It is usually conducted over a two-day period but may be done in one day. It appears that for most centers, a Thursday evening and Friday works best. The training cost also includes at least two follow up consultation calls after training. Calls are placed by the Center for the follow up several weeks after training or as needed.

 Training Materials:

Each board member should fill out a questionnaire obtained from Hope National and sent back to Hope National no less than one week before the training. This is so the trainer has a preview of the board philosophy and function.

 Items Needed for Training:

Dry erase board or chalk board

Sturdy Lectern (not a music stand)

Tall sitting stool

Bibles (encourage members to bring their own)

Notebook paper

Be prepared to work! This is an in-depth and concentrated program.

On-Site Volunteer Training

Cost of Training: One Individual Center:      $895.00

 Training Time Frame:

Training consists of approximately 18 hours and is usually conducted during a three-day period. It appears that for most centers a Wednesday evening, 6:30-9:30 pm. and a Thursday and Friday, 9am-5pm works best.

 Training Materials:

The prospective volunteers use training manuals during training. Each manual is  $23.95. It is recommended that the prospective volunteer purchase the manual. This is helpful in that the manual belongs to the volunteer and it helps them take ownership and commitment to the ministry. Items obtained for free do not have the same value as items purchased.  (The Teacher’s manual is available for $30.95)

Training manuals are shipped to the center in advance of the training. We would need your check for the manuals (plus shipping and handling) at least two weeks prior to the training to allow for processing and shipping time.

Items Needed for Training:

Dry erase board or chalk board

Overhead Projector

Sturdy Lectern (not a music stand)

Tall sitting stool

Bibles (encourage volunteers to bring their own)

Be prepared to work! This is an in-depth and concentrated program.

Conference Style Training

A minimum of 5 centers is required for a conference-style training

Cost of Training is per center not per person.

Center may have as many individuals related to the pregnancy center as they like attend.

Per Center  $475.00

Individuals:  More and more requests are being received by persons who are not affiliated with a pregnancy center to attend the conference such as pastors, lay counselors, etc. The rate for an individual is $75.00. The host center may add an additional $25.00 to the individual rate to defray costs if they would like.

IF TEN OR MORE CENTERS  ATTEND THE TRAINING

(beside the host center)

THE HOST CENTER IS FREE.

 Host Center:

The host center makes the arrangements for the location of the training i.e. local church or appropriate facility. It provides information regarding hotel accommodations, airports, and ground travel to those centers that sign up for training. The host center also receives the registrations and monies for training. The cost of travel, lodging and meals are paid by the host center. However, the host center may charge more for registration or ask the attending centers to share these costs.

Additional Information Pertaining To All Trainings:

Travel:

The cost of travel is paid by the host center. Travel arrangements will by made by Hope National. Depending on time allowance and travel circumstances, the lowest cost of travel will be acquired.

Hope will call the host center with details and the host center will purchase the tickets and send them to Hope National. Normally, a discounted rate can be obtained if tickets are purchased two weeks in advance. If time is a problem, tickets can be mailed by Federal Express or Two-Day Mail.

The trainer may either be picked up from the train or plane by someone from the center or the center may want to rent a car for the trainer to drive to and from the airport/train station and training site. If the center provides the transportation, the trainer will need to be taken to and from the training site and meals. Many times food services are available close to the hotel and the center would not need to be concerned with meal transportation.

Lodging:

The host center will provide lodging for the number of days required for training. Usually, a decent hotel or motel at a moderate rate can be obtained in your local area. When making room arrangements, please request a first floor, non-smoking room. Although bed & breakfast lodgings are beautiful, they do not work well with our schedule and needs. Please assure the room is paid in advance of the trainer’s arrival.

Meals:

The cost for food is covered by the center. For volunteer training, usually three days of meals are covered by the center. For board training, usually two days are provided.
